Hey all, I have a 2002 honda civic with 246k on the original engine I just bought the car and have been doing alot of driving since I got it. Well today I'm driving home and pull up to a stop sign and put the car in neutral, now usually the rpm sits between 1 and 0 but today I noticed that it moved up to 1 1/2 and even 2000 rpm now when I take off it takes no time for the rpm then I switch to 2nd and the timing feels all off, it actually feels like I'm fittin to race someone. Anyway I take my wife to the store and shut off the car, when wI start it to head home all is well again until I hit the driveway and put it in neutral again the rpm drops so low that I thought the car was going to shut off??

Please give me some advice as to what I need to do from this point
