intermittantly pulling to the right?
my car seems to pull to the right sometimes, but not all the time. there are times when i can let go of the wheel and the car will go straight, and other times that it will pull to the right. i know some could be because of the road sloping to the right in some places, but i really think there is more to it than that. ive driven other cars, some that actually had an alignment problem that caused them to pull to the right and others that were perfectly aligned, and none of them did what my civic does. i seem to end up over to the right side of the road a lot because the car will be going fine then start pulling to the right, then go fine, then pull, but i usually cant tell when its doing it unless i let go of the wheel, although last night while it was raining really hard, i could sometimes tell it was pulling even when my hand was on the wheel. i know this isnt a great explanation, im still trying to figure it out myself because at first i thought it was just me not being used to the car. if anyone else has this problem, youll probably know what im talking about
mine has done the same thing since a month after i got it. from what i can tell its the alignment, but its not just one way. somedays it pulls left, somedays it pulls right, and somedays its normal. i don't know if an alignment would help, i thought it was if it just pulls it one way. i don't know if you find out anything tell me so i can get mine fixed.
Mine does the same thing, although it drifts to the left. The sometimes-it-does-it-sometimes-it-doesn't symptom is something I am experiencing, too. My friend's 93 LX 4-door has much tighter, sportier steering, and it has over 140K miles on it. Has anyone noticed if there is a difference after replacing the tires?
You need an alignment if the car is pulling to one side or the other all of the time. Majority of the pulling is caused by the road surface. When it is wet out the tar on the road is very slick and will pull the car in that direction. Also check the tire pressure. Even if it is off a little, compared to the other side, it will throw the steering off.
