Is the 2000 civic better???
Is the 2000 civic better???
I got a 2001 civic EX coupe, with just over 8000km. i have had so many problems with it. now the front suspension is starting to make noise when i go over a speed bump, turn a corner or tap the brakes while backing up and turning. the dealers got a 2000 civic EX coupe loaded with more miles on it but its fully loaded. i was thinkin i would trade my car in for that so i wouldn't have the problems i have with this one since the suppension is better on those, plus parts are readily available, plus its still under warranty, plus i'll get some cash back.
any thoughts guys?

When you mod a 2000 civic ex, people will just say you're wasting your money because you could've mod a 2000 civic si instead... but when you mod a 2001 civic ex, those same people won't say anything because you'll be modding something that looks good and different looking.

ok maybe tis will help. Looks: would of course go to 2001+. Engine mods would go to the 2000 but the problem for that is that evrybody has a 6th generation civic. body kits look alot better on the 2001+ civics but the engine swaps can be better for the 2000 civic and they have a better VTEC than us which really sucks. the interior of both arent very great but the 2k1+ civics have the edge because of our gauges.
No brainer. 2000 is better. Especially if you are doing mods. VTEC is better on that model. Dual Wishbone suspension is better on the old model than the new mixed dual and independent suspension. I think that the only thing the new model has over the last gen model is the interior and that the body structure has less spacing between the panels. There is a little Hp difference between the older and newer models but damned If I can tell the difference. I also prefer the armrest on the older model because it can be used by either the passenger or driver. the armrest on the new model benefits only the driver.
you know what ...i have the same problem been in the dealer 7 time.....after all that trouble....i discover it make a different kind of noise....in the suspension....i got a new car to avoid problem.....it seem like all i have is problem

Well hooked up 6th generations are old now, but I still think they look good no matter how many people have em. I like the old generations better, plus u'll actually see gains and more parts for aftermarket. The new civics have a new clean feel though, and it is the newer style. I had no choice though, my dad said I'm gettin the new one cuz he refused to pay for a used civic. Shows the resale value of our cars
