Yesterday I was crusing around town in my car, at one point I'm not sure what happened, but while goin about 45 mph I put the car into neutral(5spd by the way), and the car stayed at around 3-4k rpm while in neutral. I don't think thats a good thing. It only stayed like that for about 30 seconds though.

Sounds like a sticking throttle body, try cleaning ti out. You can buy some cleaners at Autozone and places like that, read the directions carefully. Some of them want you car on and other want your car off.
