Manual Transmission Problems in a 95 Eclipse

My Brother has a 95 Eclipse GST ...

Something is wrong with the clutch or the linkage cable. He was driving, when the clutch (foot pedal) stoped coming back up, so he had to pull it up with his toe to engage the clutch. Good thing he made it home. Now it is sitting in his parking spot and the clutch will no longer Disengage, regaurdless of what you do to the pedal.

The pedal will spring to the floor or spring back up, but there is no pressure when you push it.

Looking under the dash, the clutch cable loooks okay. I can also see two buttons, one that gets pressed when the clutch pedal is down and one when the clutch pedal is up. Both of those look fine.

The car will still drive in reverse, so it's not like the clutch is slipping or anything.

Any help is appreciated!

jerseydetailer has a little shameless behaviour in the past
check your clutch fluid if its low or gone than you know you have a leak somewhere in the system...if it is all gone i put my money on the slave cylinder being bad

I'd put my money on the linkage being bad. It's common on these cars. On of my friends had one that engaged a half an inch from the floorboad, no joke.
