very strange problem with my friends 7thgen

when raining hard i start to hear a groaning knocking noise that comes and goes even when stopped at a light but only happens when it rains hard sounds as if it is coming from the right side front of the car also slight vibes in both pedals when this happens its a 02 civic lx with around 48k

Thats Strange!!! That has happend to me...I have an 03vic coupe..It happens all the time when it rains hard...crazy...took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong....

02 civic LX...... don't think those came with inner fenders, so yeah probably backwash.

ya its the exhaust rattle problem again. there was a tsb for it if you have stock exhaust. otherwise aftermarket isn't covered.

i never had that problem with my stock exhaust but as soon as i got my tanabe and it rained it started to rattle.. doesn't bother me though.

yeah he has stock exhaust....thanks guys ill tell him about it. im pretty sure his car isnt under warranty anymore will it still cover it?

no. tsb is only covered under warranty. they'll prolly still do it tho just tell them whats happening and show the tsb to them.

i have this same problem with my greddy exhaust, i actually think that it was the catalytic converter, when i took mine out the ratteling stopped. I dunno though, it sounds like a popular problem. Sometimes when it rained it actually made my exhaust sound louder and kinda cool ,but most of the time it sounded like shizzit

well aftermarket exhaust has bigger piping. i haven't had any rattle tho with my rsr.

i had this problem with my R/T cat pipe and evo 2 at first. it just needed some adjustment. the bigger pipping caused it to happen even when it wasnt raining. but i got it all straightened out and it still does it in the rain sometimes but nothing like it was.
