Problems? When you bought your car?
I hear people with problems with the civic....the main thing i wanna know is when did you buy the car and model?
I bought a 2k1 LX coupe in OCT, 2k1 ( i guess majoritty of the problem brought in we fixed on mine..)
It'd be great if you people posted when you bought your car, model, and problem....in this reply. so as others here can find out isses concerning the car, i've had no problems so far.

one of my co-workers got a Civic Si 2K1, he bought his in March 2001 and he said that he had to bring the car back to the dealer because the driver-side seat would wobble. He told me there was a recall for the same problem. I got mine in September 2001 and I didn't have the problem. I guess they fixed it by that time.
bought mine last june, 2001. Rattle is all I have, though I already have a fix for the rear side of the car. Maybe I can fix it this coming weekend. I don't pay too much attention to gas guage because I have an excellent gas milage per gallon (37 on the average, 39 is the highest).
I bought my 2001 CIVIC EX COUPE in MAy of 2001.
I have two major issues.
1. Seat rocking that the dealer can't seem to fix.
2. SIDE AIR BAG light that won't go off.
I can't say I'm loving this car really. I'm thinking about trading it in soon. My girlfriend has a V-6 Mercury Cougar 2000 and I am always bothering her to let me drive it. That says a lot for how I feel about this car.
BTW - i have driven CIVICs for my entire life except for a few years back when I had a 1990 MAZDA PROTEGE that was f'in fast and handled like a dream.

bought in mid september, 2k1 LX coupe.... only problems have been- every once in awhile the car sputters while i'm turning it on. one morning it took 5 tries with the ignition before it finally started. it was weird. and then there's the interior rattling noises, but it's only really bad when it's cold out.
i dont think theres a car out there where nothing goes wrong...compared to what some people go threw we are lucky. imagine what owners of kia's and hyundai's go threw..our engines run forever and a day
somtimes it takes forever to start the damn thing, rattling in several locations of the car (beleive me it gets annoying), pops out of 2nd gear and reverse, makes me want kick the ish out of it, but other than that its a nice car, compared to others out there
I bought my car July 1, 2001.
-So far I notice some sort of light rattling sound, not sure where it's coming from, almost seems like its coming from one of the air vents.
-My passenger door isn't welded together right in the corner, and lets moisture in.
-And I'm having a problem with black stuff coming off my car onto my towels when I dry it off after washing. It's not alot, but enough to make me think there's some kind of problem. The honda dealer near my house said they've never heard of that before.
-Oh, and I have problems with my rear window defroster. It works, but theres something wrong with it. It's hard to see out of my rear window at night time.
-Also when I'm rolling up my window (driver side) (no I don't have power windows) sometimes I have problems getting the window up completely; toward the very top it seems like there's something blocking it from going up all the way, and I have to pull on the handle extremely hard and sometimes I have to do this several times before it'll go up all the way
I'm somewhat new to this board, does anyone else have any of these problems?

01BlackEM02 i think the problem with the rear window is from the seats...on these new car and trucks there is some type of chemical they use, that puts a film on the windows, my car has that happened to it to, my friend has a 2001 F-150 and his windows do the same thing, i'm not sure how long tell the chemicals go away and no film...but i do know one thing...keep it clean
Flash6009: Thanks! Now that I look at it, it does look like a film on the window. Will cleaning the window more often then usual help it go away faster? Is there any specific cleaners that I can use on the window that might help it to go away faster?
