well you're basically putting more stress on the other mounts. Drive it really carefully and as smooth as possible because you could potentiall break the other mounts.

I think the front mount is the same, the rear not. however, you can check it at slhonda.com doing a comparrison of the part numbers.
And with the new mount install the inserts, or you will have a worn mount soon...

Your engine moves, and the mounts are subjected to the engine movement, they are like dampers that stop the engine from moving too much and to reduce the vibration that you feel.... something like that.

You have me thinking about this now. Think I should have it checked out, I keep hearing a rattle coming from the left driver side when taking off and when hitting small bumps.

well, it cost about 50 dollars for each mount.. and the labor cost is about 180 if you want to replace all 4 mounts... so, about 45forlabor+50 dollars for the mount... i actually i got 2 motor mounts and transmission mount replaced for 150 with labor... but thats because it was my friend's dad shop.. but good luck to you...

How do you change the mounts (is it something you can do without dropping the engine) and how do you check if you have bad ones. When i rev the engine, it rocks but I don't have any vibrations or anything.

it happens from junk mounts. if they are available, go aftermarket. you'll be able to tell by looking usually they will be cracked or damaged. if you dont feel bad vibrations they are prolly fine for now.

I'v replaced my clutch twice, sooo each time they droped the engine out I had them replace the all the mounts at that time. (to save on labor later on) But I SAW the mount is was a shreded peace of plastic and metal.

Okay so let me get this straight, if I do need to replace them. Are OEM mounts the best to go with on the replacement.

See, I dont THINK there is mutch aftermarket suport when it comes to engine mounts. But I was TOLD just to get the OEM one's. The reason I have replaced mine twice was "operator error." I.E Drag Raceing on the track and all over the street. Again this is just my oppinion

you will notice excessive movement from the motor if the mount is broken when you rev it. you will also see some movement in the shifter when releasing the clutch when starting out. its not a huge deal unless others are broken too. just take it easy and as far as using factory mounts- think about how fast they went already aftermarket should be stronger and be able to take more abuse with out breaking but they will also cause more vibration becasue most of the time the inserts they use are stiffer

the front mount is made weak for safety. if you have an accident this mount brakes so the engine fall to the floor and don't hit the firewall. but apparently it is too weak and break easly. I recommend the use of "energy suspension inserts"...

Most pf the times you don't have to replace all the four. the front mount and the one that is on the timing belt side are the most that fails.

the front is around $60, the side (timing belt) is around $100

you could inspect them, if the rear aren't broke the other three you can replace them by yourself, even if don't know anything about cars, "just have to know how to bolt and unbolt a bolt", the rear is the same but with a little space

just unbolt it and install the new mount in the same form the other was, torque it with a 3/8" ratchet and that's all, for the timing side mount you should use a long (deep-well) socket

OBVOUSLY REPLACE ONE AT A TIME, AND DON'T START THE ENGINE OR DRIVE THE CAR

i haven't see any aftermarket mounts, use the energy suspension inserts, you will feel vibrations on the car but the mount will not fail anymore, if you don't want the vibrations install the inserts just to the front mount, the rear one doesn't break (it don't tends to)...

if any mount is broken you should replace it inmediately, it is a deal, if you don't replace them the other mounts will break

the mounts control the movement of the engine, excesive movement of the engine can cause other engine problems especially on a manual trans. the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel can be damaged...
