its happened 2 to 3 times in the past week. i get in, put down the clutch, start it and it starts a little sluggishly. like 4 clicks instead of 2 normally. i am low on gas, so that might be it, or it could be plugs, or something else. battery? help. thanx

Ehhh how low on gas are you......I havnt had thishappen to my current 7thgen but I have a 6th gen as well and it does that when it is low on fuel.

4 clicks? ... your clutch clicks?

fill up on gas ... if it still does that, then check your plugs and your oil level.

no not clutch clicks. 4 starter clicks. normally its like 2-3 on a dead motor and like 2 on warm/hot. i filled up after work tonight and it started fine. ill check again tomorrow morning.

Mine does something similar. Only happens every know and then, except it doesn't matter how much gas i have.

it was the gas. didn't happen again. but my light was not on when i turned the car off. it did come on when i started it slow though.(gas light)

Mine does this too, I just upgraded to a new kenwood deck 5.0 and a 300w amp and two 10" subs and apline-s (no multi channel amp yet the deck can push those pretty well) could that be a problem, it did this with half a tank, and I know my battery was still good before this. Oh well I just need to go out and get an optima yellow-top just havent found a place that has them in stock locally.

uh yea the gas isn't it. do you leave it in ON position for a few seconds before cranking? just get a new battery and plugs.

well leaving in the on position builds some fuel pressure. it takes a bit longer to start if you just start it up by turning the key fast.

I tried it [edit]what you suggested gearbox[edit]when I left work an hour ago, and it started right up, still need to go get an optima battery though.

well try leaving it in the on position a few secs before cranking. prolly will fix it.
