This is how I judge how much gas is left. I refilled my tank as soon as the light came on. It took 11.1 gallons to fill it. The tank is 13.1 gallons so based on my avg mpg somewhere between 33-35mpg (highway). I know i can go between 60-70 miles. I would never trust the guage. The light seems to be deadly accurate at least for me. Try it when the re-fuel light goes on fill the tank and see how much gas u need. Then you know exactly how much is left in the tank. Hope this helps.

i have an 02lx coupe, with about 1000 miles and on my 4th tank of gas. I do about 60% hwy driving. First tank gave me 28mpg. Second and third tank gave me 27mpg. On this tank, the needle is just under the halfway mark and I've only done about 145 miles, which leads me to believe that I'll be getting roughly 24-25mpg out of this tank. Is the mileage supposed to get progressively worse until the first oil change? When should I get my first oil change? At 3000 miles? Will the car benefit if I do it any earlier? Also, how long should I wait before I can start giving the car a good workout -- haven't taken it past 4k rpm yet, been granny driving for 3 weeks now....

I noticed considerable loss of mileage per gallon after i installed my AEM CAI....
I usually drive like a granny and i hear some people with a AEM CAI also and drive like a racer and still get better mileage than me.. i don't want to go to the dealer and complain because they'll probably blame it on my AEM CAI... grrrrr

I have a k2 sedan ex 5 speed about a month old. It has a little over a thousand miles. I usally get 330-340 miles per tank, and thats all city. It usually shows about a 1/4 tank when I fill up and holds 10.5 gallons or so when I fill it. Just installed the injen cai, will be waiting to see how my mileage is affected.

Fury, sounds to me like you have a faulty gauge for sure. Well, either that or a big v8 under the hood.
