loud noise coming from driver side engine
Hi! I've been looking for a while and nobody seems to have this problem before I hope somebody can help me out. I got a 02 civic EX with 57,000 on it. Its been a couple of weeks since the car started to have this loud sound like metal hitting metal coming from the driver side engine. I checked valve adjusment and its seems to be good. Any help will be appreciate.

Might want to describe when you have this noise - unless it is constantly there (at idle or at speeds) ..

loud sound like metal hitting metal coming from the driver side engine
I already checked the wheel and noting is rubbing against it. I took it to a mechanic and he could not figure out where exactly is coming from, just that its at the driver side engine which appear to be the timing belt area. The sound is pretty loud once I hit 2000 RPMS and it is literally metal hitting metal, but if I don't rev the engine evrything is normal other than the iddle going up to 1,500 rpms and drop back down to 500 rpms. This usually happen when the car is cold and sometimes even when it is warmed or when I make a stop. When I shift to third gear sometimes the car seems to lose power like something is holding the car to pick up speed. I do not got a stock flywheel and do not know if that could it be the cause of this loud sound or the iddling problem, but when first installed (almost a year ago) everything was fine.
