Fan Blower issues

Hey. I searched and didn't come up with any help, so I figured I'd post a new thread.

I bought an 01 Civic EX that turned out to be a salvage title (don't ask, I don't want to get into it, and I didn't pay much for it at all). It looks like the car may have either been flooded, or spent a long time outside in the elements, because there's dirt and random electrical issues all over that I'm dealing with.

My biggest issue is the HVAC fan. Sometimes it blows, just VERY softly (I also have an 02 RSX, so I have a good idea how they blow), other times it doesn't come on at all. Doesn't matter if it's heater or A/C, or recirc is on or not. When the air's on it gets cold, when the heat's on it gets warm.

My question is do I have a bad fan blower, in your opinions, or another electrical issue related to it? Thanks.

Take out the cabin filters. Once they are out you will be able to reach the blower fan. Reach in and try turning the fan by hand, it should turn easily. It could be a blower motor being tight or a control problem. I have some wiring info if you need it PM and let me know.

I would check for some high resistance in the wiring to the blower motor. its one possibility.

I believe the car to be rolled or hit in the rear. Who ever did the work did a pretty good job though. No noticeable frame damage, the restore was pretty solid.

I'm going to be re-tracing some of the wiring this weekend for the blower.
