AT downshifting when braking

searched, other threads on the topic too old to dig up.

is there any way to disable or reprogram the tranny not to downshift when braking?

mine did it on the highway today and tried to put me through the windshield.

makes the car very unpredictable in certain situations, thats the last thing i need

also seems like itd be hard on the tranny...

ya its grade logic and can't be disabled. its supposed to be a feature but really just sucks. it only does it if you're braking and going downhill. Ever since I've moved to Illinois (flat roads) I've never had it happen. And yes its bad for the tranny to downshift like that.

ive acclimated my driving to it for the most part, not braking as hard on a hill, or braking hard before a hill as to prevent it, but last night i wasnt even on a hill, so it caught me off guard.

it didnt really get me near the windshield, i was exaggerating, but it is still damn hard braking, that i wish could be disabled.

It really sux... especially when going downhill, you're pushing the brakes a little harder to come to a stop, and all of a sudden it jolts and people think that you have a problem with braking or something.

Wow.... Thought I was the only one who hated this happening. There were not any threads here really. I had experienced it right from the start on my 05 and recently confirmed it on a loaner 05 AT. I also have adjusted my driving to keep it from happening as much as possible.

i live in a pretty hilly area and my stupid car does that at this one light around the corner from my house all the time... it is a rather sudden jolt that does make passengers think you don't know how to brake! normal though..
