Do I need shocks or struts?
Do I need shocks or struts?
My honda civic has 109,000 miles on it. Within the last 5,000 miles, the drivers side rear has begun to sag. I knew I was buying new tires soon, so I did'nt worry about it. Now that I have new tires I need to know why it would sag like that?
So how do I know what to get to fix it? Shock absorber or Strut assembly?

I'd take the tire off
check for any leaking or oil residue on the strut.
or to see if you can move the strut up and down on your own.
If so, replament or upgrade are needed.
Or if you have te cash just do an upgrade to the suspension.
My drivers side rear went bad at around 40,000 miles

As far as i know, the car has either a shock (which can be pulled out of the strut and replaced), or a strut (which is a complete unit and has a shock in it). Just depends on the car and model, you car has either one or the other, not both.
