Maintenance light on continually at 85,000

What's up with my maintenance light on , staying on, at 85,000 miles on my car...It usually comes on flashing when I start my car every 10000 miles or so...I just turn it off ,but this time the maintenance light is on solid yellow ? Thanks.

Blahman240 is on a distinguished road
that happens at other mileage as well... Mine happened at 10k I think... Then I wrecked the car around 20k it just means they want you to take it in and waste money on unneeded service. But if you want, go ahead and do it. But read your manual and it tells you how to shut the light off.

prolly an 02 sensor, if you have an autozone near you they will usually scan for codes for free. If you plan on taking it to a dealership get it scanned before you go so you can tell if they are ripping you off. I have an obd2 scanner so I dont have to go farther than my shed.

Wrong light, that's the "check engine soon" light, this is the maintance light.

Fist of all, there is a sitcky for this (it's just a maintance reminder, basically to rotate your tires, it should start flashing every 8,000 miles then 2,000 miles after it comes on and stay on): http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=174951

Normaly we close these threads ASAP because there a ton of them and the solution is stickied, however it sounds like you have tried to reset it and it won't reset, in that case you really do have a problem. Let us know if you have tried to reset it or not, if you have and it still stays on, you have a problem and we'll try to address it if that is the case.

thanks everybody, well, I turned the maintenance light off , like I always do, it was just different this time because it stayed on constant....
Oh well, so last night I go out to my car and it dies, strange clicking noises from within my dash, and then the lights fade, the car won't even turn over , dead, my friend comes over and we jump my car, we drive 25 minutes to my friends, just as we pull in my car begins to fad, lights fade and flicker my car coasts to a stop and dies again...so we all hang out and then try to jump my car again, well it won't charge, it stays very dead, only the window will roll up. so, we push start my 5 speed, rolling start in second gear and I pop the clutch - boom it starts, we drive home, my car is in my driveway dead again, I will push start it and go to autozone and get the battery and alternator tested. It is just weird a few days after that constant maintenance light stayed on ....coincidence??
