overheat today...

ok so I drive like normal get to work and pull the brake up so the turbo timer cools it off. The last thing I did was touch the button to see something and I forgot to click ok so it was clear. 30-40 minutes later my coworker calls me as hes walking in telling me my car is still running and smoking and atifreeze all over the place. I walk out the timer never cleared itself and shut the car off. so my question of being worried right now is how bad of damage as it? It was running 30-40 minutes at idle but the fans were not running due to the turbo timer. It over heated the gauge was all the way up when i checked but as soon as I got the car to shut off and just turned the key to let the fans run it dropped down about normal pretty quickly.

Should I be worried or not?

Well take the car for a drive and see how it responds. You may be ok, but you never know. If it heats up or starts acting funny, you may have done some damage.
