Clutch Squeak!

So this past spring I noticed squeaking whenever I pressed in my clutch, and when I was releasing the clutch it would squeak too. You could feel it in your foot too, like it was rough. Anyway, Honda replaced the master cylinder and some other crap in that clutch assembly, and all was well. This was done in June 05.

Well now, it's squeaking again. I brought it back, I said WTF you just replaced these parts.. so they said this time it's probably the Slave Cylinder. So today they replaced that. Does this make any sense here? I mean, the master cylinder is attached to the pedal, and when u press it down, I can see how that's the part that is squeaking. Why would it be the Slave?

Drawing of assembly:

The master cyinder is #5, the Slave cylinder is #7

where exactly can you here it squeaking from? from what you say it sounds like it is coming from the clutch pedal and may just need some white lithium grease up in there.

Honda tends to just throw parts at the car untill its fixed.

My car is like 1 year old, it's not that. I read thru this already. I asked them to lubricate they said it's already lubricated, there's no need.. the parts come lubricated from Honda

Yeah, I'm sorry, I forgot, my car came perfect too, and the Honda people are always right. Please disregard any advice anyone gives you concerning maintaining your car. Especially since your car is less than a year old and has already replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders...

bah. I'm just telling you what they said. I said "cant you guys lube up the master cylinder with lithium grease?" and they said no we used a stethescope to locate the problem to the slave cylinder. The parts come pre lubed so we dont lube them again. It was the same tech who replaced my master cylinder in the summertime... if it keeps squeaking, well then obviously I'm gonna spaz out and say LUBE IT YOU **** SMOKERS. Im not disregarding anything, just passing on the info they told me.

they also replaced some DOT fluid or whatever? not sure what that is, but they said sometimes that gets contaminated and dries out the seals and whatnot..

When you said clutch squeek that you could feel in your pedal, I didn't need a stethoscope to tell you it was the slave cylinder. Trust me, the lube in the slave cylinder can last years or months. Just follow the DIY next time and save the trip to the dealership.

As for the DOT fluid, it is the clutch fluid (which is brake fluid). They probably flushed the fluid after changing the slave cylinder.

As they told you, they probably won't lube up the slave cylinder except with the Honda goop. Trust me, it's easier than it looks and only takes about half an hour.

Squeaking again.
Called the service manager, he said this is a reacurring problem in many civics, and he said sometimes it will take 3-4 master cylinders before it's fixed. GG Honda Quality.

Clutch is squeaking again as you may have heard.. Well I went to the dealer, and I showed them that article about lubing up the cylinder etc etc.. It ends up it's not either of the cylinders. It's the pressure plate. He jacked up my car, sprayed lube on the pressure plate, noise GONE. They have to drop my tranny out this Friday to replace the plate
