why car wont start
I have a 94 civic lx and i was driving it and stopped at a red light, then as i was waiting there the car just turns off like it ran out of gas. Ever since then we couldnt get it started, when we try to it doesnt sound like the motor is getting spark to it, we check the battery and spark plugs and there good, what can it be? andrew landandhouses@hotmail.com

so it sounds like the car is cranking, but not starting correct? First off, if you dont have some simple tools, disconnect one of the plug wires and pull out a plug with it (do this with the engine off) and then reconnect the plug to the wire and ground the plug to the engine ground and crank the engine. If you have spark, you should see the plug fire. No spark indicates a ignition fault. If you do have spark, check to see if you hear the fuel pump run for 2 seconds with the key in the II position. If you dont, you have a fuel delivery issue. You can check the fuel pressure if you have a fuel pressure gauge. If you do hear the pump run, dont assume it is still good. It may be pumping fuel, but may not have any pressure. I ran into this problem myself awhile ago and it stumped me at first because I didnt use my head. The fuel pump has to produce pressure and volume.
If you dont hear it, check the fuses and the fuel pump relay.
Start hear to see what you find and that will determine where to look next.
But make sure also that you do have some gas.

Either fuel pump, fuel pump relay which is connected to the oil pressure sending unit, btw. It's designed to kill the engine if it sees low oil pressure.
Then make sure the timing belt is ok. Lastly, it was pretty common for the ignition module to fail in the 90's honda's.
Check the fuel pump fuse first.
