I've been having some issues with my car for the last 6 months or so. I was in an accident and ever since the acceleration is dead, and the v tec (whatever vtec there is) doesnt seem to come on. while accelerating the car will say hit 4k rpm then kinda stop for a second, then keep accelerating. the idle also drops when im stopped. i just got the car back from my honda dealership and they said no codes were in the computer and everything seemed fine, they suggested i get the 30k mile maintenence and fuel system cleaning services done for the low price of $550. the hell with that. the cars a 03 coupe m/t with 41k miles. no mods or anything, oil always changed on time, air filter, etc... always maintained the car. anyone have ANY idea what the problem could be? any help at all would be appreciated. thanks.

Well I suggest you first DO the idle relearn procedure. Make sure all accessories are off, then start the engine and hold it to 3000 RPM with no load in neutral. untill the radiator fan comes on. then let the engine idle for 5 minutes with the throttle fully closed. See if that makes a difference, if it does, your set, if it doesnt, possibly do a routine maintenence on your car. You dont need the dealer to do it, but also check your plugs condition to see if you have any fouling, or any other engine problems. There could be several things wrong, it kind of a elimintaion game.
