problem with second gear

im having a problem shifting into 2nd when i start up my car. sometimes i have to push it in 2nd and its making all kinds of grinding noises. the problem seems to go away after i drive for abour 10 minutes, but you can still feel it. any ideas? would double-clutching help? btw, how do you double-clutch?

if your car is a 2001, its a warranty issue, and there is a service bulletin, take it back to the dealer and theyll fix it. depending on how long its been like that, you might end up with a new tranny, at least one person on here did, otherwise it has something to do with the synchros or something. do a search theres lots of threads on this problem

Yeah i got the new tranny, the night i drove my car home 2nd-4th were all grinding, hard to shift etc.. they fixed it once, after about
3000miles same problem occured, they decided not to fix it again and just put a new transmission, gears synchros etc. in
Get it looked at right away!

Double clutching is a matter of using the clutch twice to actually shift into another gear. Put the clutch in shift into neutral. Let the engine speed slow a bit push in the clutch, shift into next gear. Confusing? Check this article out.Double Clutching

if i had the problem i might actually wait to take it in so i would be more likely to get a whole new tranny
