transmition clicking?
ok, i have had this clicking coming from the transmition. i first thought it was the throttle bearing, nope i was wrong although it did look a little worn. i also replaced the stock clutch with a act stage 2, but the clicking hasn't gone away, what should i do...
replace trans. OR
take off trans and have a shop repair it
thanx in advance

i had my input shaft bearing come apart on me. But it didnt make a clicking noise.
Did you ever think that it may be your axels? When they go bad, they click like hell when going around turns.

i dont think it would be my axles, for a couple reasons, it makes the clicking at an idle, and when driving straight, i heard from a good friend it might be imput shaft. but the only problem i need to have little as possible down time for its my daily driver

does the noise go away after you push in the clutch? If so, then its your input shaft bearing.
I just diagnosed one today. My new transmission has a bad input shaft bearing. (Thanks Derek!!

) what other problems can you have from driving with a bad imput shaft bearing? because mine does the same thing and stops when I push in the clutch
I always just thought it was annoying, but would cause no real problems is this true.

I have that same noise, honda voided my warranty due to aftermarket parts so now Im in touch with the consumer protection agency to try toe get it fixed. I got an 01 ex 5speed what models do u guys have? Now I know what the noise is-thanks-honda told me it was a clutch plate or throwout bearing which was a bunch of bs because I changed all that and the flywheel(aftermarket of course) and I still have the noise. I got an 02 tranny sitting in the garage but want to get it fixed for free. If I can't is it worth it to fix it or just swap the 02 tranny in?

That sounds like the input shaft bearing.
When i pull this motor out to put the built one in, i will be replacing the bearing in this tranny. I will try to remember to take pictures and write a DIY for replacing the bearing.
This DIY WILL NOT be for the beginner. I have already done it once, and it is a pain. It is much more complex than installing a turbo kit or installing a clutch. Simply due to the fact that you have to remove the gear cluster, the final drive, and the shifter assembly.

mine clicks but only when making a right hand turn at about 15-20 mph. it started after i installed my coilovers. when i was putting them in i dropped the right axel and it popped out of the transmission but i just slid it back in i think when this happend i might have broke something, any sugestions for this?

the cv joints dont leak and it doesnt klunk or anything like that just a ticking noise during the turn. i would think that if the axel was broke it would do more than just click.
