Popping sound when shifting

Popping sound when shifting I drive a 02 hx and usually when im shifting to 3rd gear, i get this loud popping sound from either the engine or the suspension and my suspension is stock except that i have 17s put on the car, and also i get this 3 second screeching sound in the rain when i go over a puddle in the road, anybody else experience this, let me know, Thanks

is it when you are shifting into gear or after? Could be a synchro, not sure about the grinding sound unless it's somehting like a belt,, but that's generally a squeel, not a grind.
the squeeling from puddles is the belts getting wet and slipping,
is it always when you shift into third? try various speeds, even try skipping second try to pinpoint the problem- hit us back with any details
