hold clutch, with left foot, hold brake with right foot
when you're ready to go, quickly let go of brake and step on a lot of gas, then slowly release clutch
easier with parking brake, it's like having a 3rd foot hold down the brake for you

heh i know how to drive stick, just pointing out that roll back in an auto isnt a big deal
still annoying when someone pulls up that close on a steep hill, and the time i was talking about was when i had just gotten my civic and wasnt used to the clutch yet (its very different than the one in my 88 dodge omni)

its not like rollback is just a problem with civics though...and manual transmission car will have rollback. And the next time you race someone and barely win you will be stoked you have a stick.
i know what you mean, my mom wont drive a stick because she rolls back on people when she drives. I told her to learn how to drive one. Now she want to drive my brand new 02 5-speed and im like....NO!

*IMPORTANT UPDATE*
After rereading the thread in its entirety, I guess I did not clearly explain my car. Note this: I have an automatic. Roll backs on automatics on a small incline can mean something is wrong.
