Clutch and shifter problems
I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue I am,with my 04 Civic. Now I've been driving stds for years but this car seems to be real problematic when going through the gearbox. When upshifting to 2nd or 3rd on a number of occassions I've been grinding it. Now I mentioned this to the dealer and was told the hydraulic clutch has no adjustment. This is apparently just how the car drives. But at this rate I may toast the tranny by the time I get 25K on the car. As I said, I'm no newbie to driving stick. I'd just like to hear if anyone else is having the same trouble...and if you've found a solution.
Cheers!
Cheers!
Blahman - He said that he took it to the dealer and that u can't adjust the clutch. Fixeruper - He said that he knows how to drive a stick so I'm sure that he knows to push the clutch down far enough... Sometimes mine doesn't go into 1st. it looks like its in but when u strart to let out the clutch it grinds for a sec and pops out and I only have 20k miles...

also, do you have to bring your clutch pedal almost all they way back up to the idle point? like get in your car, put it in first, then slowly move your clutch up, hit your friction point your car will roll. is it really high? cause mine is but honda says its fine.

I had the same problem with my 02 EX. I fixed it by adding a tube of Moly to the gearoil.
It's been said that Redline MTF is also good for this.

when I first got my car I took it in cause it wouldn't go into first sometimes and then it would also pop out of first sometimes as well as not go into reverse. Well of course nothing happened when I took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't find anything wrong. Now that my warranty is pretty much voided I don't know if they would even fix it if they knew what was wrong. IT doesn't do it all the time but it kinda pisses me off. I have grinded the crap out of second a couple times when the shifter jumped out of first on me. Hope a solution id found do I can resolve the problem before I do any damage.
sme problem with 5th gear it slips out over 60 mph and my reverse gear won't even go in not even if u force it. ifound that if you a transmission additive it lubricates your syns and they work better and this info came from 3 mechanics i spoke to. well it turns out my is leaking the tranny fluid somewhere by my cv shaft so i might haVE TO REPLACE my shafts.
