Air Condition Problem

Last year i was comming home from midnight ahd i hat a groundhog, It did some damage. Front bumper, radiator, overflow, fan's and shrowds, and ac compressor. So i called my dealer where i bought the car and the sent me to some place where the send all the car's for body work ect. So after i get the car back, i start noticing that my ac isn't as cold as it was befor. So i said something to the dealership and they sadi that i have to pay $100 for them to test my ac and see it their's a problem or it need's recharged. I think that's crap i have the extended warenty i think it should be covered. Any idea's whats wrong and can i fix it my self or should i pay the $100.

it was an act of god and warranty doesnt cover that. its just like demanding free repairs after a tree fell on your car.

my best guess is theirs leftover gunk on the radiator? after hitting the poor animal, did it leave nasty pieces on the front end of your car?

Was the air ever cold since they returned it ?? If they replaced the compressor they would have had to add freon and evacuate the system, Maybe there is a freon leak ??

When they replaced the AC compressor, the system had to be pumped down and re-filled. Due to this, Honda should look at it again since the work should be under some type of warranty. It's possible the system is either low in charge or has too much R134 since they re-filled it. Either way, It won't cool right. The R134 charge has to be exactly right for optimum cooling. However, if the repair warranty period is up, you are probably out of luck. I'd have an independent shop look at it then. I actually do my own AC work, so I know it's not that big a deal. A set of good gauges tell you right away what's going on.

I'd call up the body shop that took it apart and find out why they didnt recharge the AC system. Tell them your dealer said to call. If they cherish the dealers business, they'll usually comply and get it fixed.
