I don't know if the car is suppose to do this but my car can shift out of gear easily without the clutch...my friend said that this is normal but it didn't do that before. Is this really normal??

I don't think its a good idea to shift without clutching while driving. It will mess up your transmission, well thats what I heard anyways, correct me if I'm wrong please.

when i say parked, i mean when the engine is NOT on. the clutch is your friend. use it since you have one on your car, unless u wanna hear some major gear grinding. that sound gives me chills

you can take it out of gear while moving as long as you go to neutral.....as for shifting without the clutch from gear to gear....you can but its hard, take a look at NASCAR they do it all the time you just have to match the acceleration with the trani and keep the right RPMS

when u can get the transmission and the egine in perfect timing u can shift without using ur clutch
it is very normal I some times do that but becarful cause with out the perfect timing u WILL grind
and when u can get doin this good try downshifting with out a clutch
u have to hit the gas pedal while ur in neutral and let the rpm's rise and fall then it will pop in to a lower gear

I've been driving like that for years in all of my cars, it shouldn't do any harm. The hard part is downshifting without using the clutch.

you can always pull your car out of gear w/o the clutch. and it isnt bad as long as you aren't giving it gas...in that case, the engine will just return to idle while you coast. if you do give it gas, the engine will rev obviously

yeah, i dont see the point of not using the clutch, youre just taking a big risk of grinding if you dont do it right, youre not really accomplishing anything

If you learn how to do it right, you can improve your acceleration times. It's all a matter of technique. There is a certain amount of art to catching cogs.
