well guys my tranny finally gave in. I'm rolling down the 3 floors in the parking garage and cruise out as I notice a very loud whining noise.. I go to give it gas and the security guard looks at me like I'm nuts.. Why well fvck the thing was at 4k rpm and I was going 5 mph!!! so now my car is sitting in the fvcking parking lot outside the building. I'm not leavin until a wrecker shows up. lol the area I work in is nice until the sun goes down.. called greenspoint but is well known as guns point. this sucks. well only 92k miles on the tranny and its dead.

sorry to hear that. I have 98000 on mine, and its doing decent. getting noisier, but still pretty quiet. I just broke my damn tranny mount the other day, as well as my clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder, and I screwed my clutch. My tranny is about a half inch off from where it should be. there are some trannys for sale in the fs forums, check em out.

I'm thinking now maybe I can do a swap.. from auto to stick.. We will see though as I research and find the cost of a new one and how much work it would be. I had to push my car back into the parking garage at work. My supervisor said to call her tonight so I could drive her accord around town! =) she prolly just wants me to show up to work. I don't have the money for this but hey that is just how it goes. time to whip out the good ol credit card. =(

its an auto? sounds like your torque converter may have died not the whole tranny. Youll know a tranny is gone when you see the fluid in your rearview, and your car starts sounding like a jet trying to take off. Yeah been there done that.

i had the same exact thing happen to me as whats happened to him.... and i have an auto.... even the sound hes describing happened... it didnt slip at all until like 5 mins before the whole thing went out, i can move the shifter down into D, 2, and 1 but it doesnt engage, but when i put it in reverse it engages after just a few seconds(longer then it took before this happened)... any ideas?

I have been told my torque converter as well as the whole tranny. so i dont know.
