Is this common for civics? I had a 2000 civic before and it wasn't as bad as my new Civic.
The rattling noises come from the instrument cluster, the door locks (actual plastic lever) and somewhere in the back. It f'n sucks that my brand new car sounds like an old beater.
Can this be fixed by the dealer and is it covered by the warranty?

I have a 03 coupe with 40k on it now and it rattles worse than my 87 ford ranger that I sold with 328,000 miles on it. Thats sad, and yes, three hundred twenty eight thousand miles, original motor (2.3) and 5 speed, was a great truck, air worked too, wish I still had it over the civic. And no, turning up the raido does not solve the problem either.

I have an 03 civic coupe and there are three places it rattles. 1. the soft fabic stuff on my driver door - i fix that by hold the side of my arm on it lol 2. the sunroof makes a tink noise so i just tilt it and the other one I cant seem to fix.. it sounds like it's coming from the far back of my roof.. a constant tink.tink. tink ... i just blast my alpine if it starts doing that. I did try to have the honda dealership fix it. Eh. still there-

But just take it in, they should be able to do something about it. On mine they put silicone lubricant on the door seals, because thats where the rattles were coming from, and it stopped them.
Come on guys you know what I mean, it sucks to have a rattley car. Im sure when I take my Grandma grocery shopping she will not appreciate loud bass comming from my two 12's. I guess I will have to tell her the guys on the Forum told me to do it and it would take my mind of my cheap car that rattles, ha ha!

I also noticed there are more rattles in the 7th Gen. Civic. It seems like the plastic they use are thinner than older Civics. I was able to quiet much of the rattle down myself by gluing sound deadening felt materials to the back of all the palstic panels. Most of the sound in my car came from the panels under the steering column and the center counsel and that's where I did all the gluing. It works quite well I might add.

Are your door panels pushed in all the way. My passenger door panel wasn't all the way in.
