daytime running light problem

I've noticed lately that about half the time I turn my car on, the DRL light comes on the dash, and I get this ANNOYING buzzer noise from somewhere inside my dash. When this happens the DRL on my right head light does not come on full strength, just a dim light.

When this first started happening, the DRL light on the dash would come on, the buzzer would make that annoying sound, and after about 10 seconds it would go away, at which point the DRL on the right headlight would come on. Now its a little more permanent. The only way to get rid of the DRL dash light and the buzzer sound when it happens, is to turn on my headlights, but as soon as I turn them off, here we go again.

I thought it might be that my right head light was burning out or something, so I replaced it, but this problem is still occuring 1/2 the time I turn on my car.

Often when it happens the DRL dash light will flicker along with the nasty buzzer sound in the dash. I'm guessing I blew a fuse or something, but I'm looking for other ppl's opinions.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

I think there are 2 fuses used 7.5 and 10 amps. The buzzing could be the relay making noise ??

You could try to re-seat the connector on the DRL control module.

I have the wiring info for the Canada models if you need it PM and I will get it to you.

There is a DRL relay Gray in color behind the glooves compartment, which makes noise. You can open the glooves compartment by remvoing two latches that holds the glooves compartment. On left side ( NOT front ), there are two relays, one black and one gray. The gray relay ( Five pins ) belongs to DRL. it costs $26 from dealer. You can ask the parts department about DRL relay only. If you need part #, let me know. But this information should be enough to buy and replace the relay. Just pull the relay upwards. There is no latch that holds the relay.

Good Luck

Hey Cyberkinetic , I'm having the same problem as you regarding the DRL and the annoying buzzer... can you share what you did to fix it? Is changing the DRL relay did the trick?

Thanks
