The first thing I did when I drove off the lot was to replace mine with yokohamas.

Mine are still in decent shape at 34,000 miles but like everyone says - car handles poorly with them. If I decided not to trade the car they will be replaced with a new set of rims and tires.

Mine lasted as long as it took me to get some money and throw 17's on there. About 2 months!

I just use them for 2 weeks and bought a new rim! They belong to my garage I never know when I needed them. Like long trip or something use it as a Spare its better to bring two spare tires on long driving specially when your alone.

our cars probably would handle better if those firestones were flat or just bare rims...LOL

Does anyone know WHY Honda uses these cheapass tires for their cars? Really, WHY? Is it just that they're so much cheaper? Is the cars handling and the customer's satisfaction less important than saving some money? I'm wondering if any other car manufacturers equip their cars with worse or similar tires..

Put it this way...say they save a buck on each tire so that's four dollars per car. Mutiply that by a year's production run (like 80000 cars per year) that's already 320000. It's no small amount of money by any means.

I still have the Firestones on my EX sedan (14,000 miles) which I'll keep until I absolutely have to change them. Yeah, I'm a cheapo. I'd rather save up the money for laser surgery for my eyes or something else. But I did see some Pirelli tires at discounttiredirect.com that I like, P4000 Super Touring (new) P205/60R-15 91H B.

10,500 miles on mine and they're about toast. Then again, I have raced alot on these tires and spin the hell out of them to warm them up some. They don't grab worth a darn to begin with, so warming them up is your only choice.

Original Firestone FR690 have 65000 miles/104000 kms and are on the car and still have lots of tread left.

Re: How long did YOUR firestones last?

I've only got 36600 km on mine but I swear, I've plugged them like 6 times...so once the tax return comes I'll have to do some research on tires and rims (damn 4 lugs )

And yeah, Winter performance sucks. Slides over the most insignifigant amount of snow! And I'm a pretty safe driver!

Re: How long did YOUR firestones last?

you got lucky, mine were bald at 20k miles with very light driving. they hydroplaned all the time, terrible handling, and felt like i was driving a geo metro. and the tires are not cheap, they go for almost $90 a piece on tirerack and the average rating is 1.5 out of 10 lol. the $50 fuzion tires i have now are night and day difference.
