Yea know... I have the HX which is a ULEV, and I thought about removing it and seeing if I could still pass emissions (once every 2 yrs in MD) But I'd have to get those O2 simulator things for the sensors, and then I don't know if it'll still read correctly in the OBD2, so really it's not worth the effort.
If you are going to do it, I would recommend having a shop bolt in a replacement pipe and not weld it in, so you can unbolt it and rebolt the cat before emissions. too much effort in my opinion.

It would be comparable to purchasing a larger after market exhaust. The Cat is the most restrictive point from the headers to the exhaust tip… You are bound to gain at least 30 hp ….

i have a kamikaze header and i noticed some difference not much but my car is a hell of a lot louder...do it if u wanna be noticed for sure....oh yea and i got pulled over cause my dam car was too loud
