trunk and gas opener resisting

trunk and gas opener resisting
Today i was trying to open up my trunk with the trunk and gas latch but for some reason there was so much tension on the lever. I might take it to the dealership to get it checked out. would you guys know what the reason the lever has so much tension on it because i never even did anything to it to cause this problem. was working when i first got the car. its an 05 civic ex coupe just for your info
