Headlight Help ...... Please????

ok, this is the story. i went to my friends house to black out her headlights in her 02 EX. after i took everything out, blacked out the headlights, and sealed it beack together, i plugged the headlights back into the car. when we went to test them out, only the passenger side headlight went on. the other one is dead, unless you put the high beams on. . the corner bulbs dont work but the main bulb in the passenger side one works... if anyone can solve my problem, i would praise you for the rest of my life. . and i'll send you a set of ambers off my headlights (03 EX) for FREE . please help.

recheck all ur connections.. and also take a look at the bulbs themselves. If u see any filaments that are broken than thats the problem. If that doesnt work, check your fuses, there should be some that are for the headlights.

Good luck!

there are 2 filaments in your H4 bulb. one is for the high beam and the other one is for the low beam. once you touch the lens (lets say with your filthy fingers) the bulb glass will heat up so fast and hot that the filament, usually the thinner of the 2, will break. looks like that is what happened. now can i have my ambers?

You're only half right. But touching the bulb doe NOT afftect the filament. The filament is inside the glass and sealed from the environment. If you touch bulb, the oil from you hand will cause uneven expansion and contraction of the bulb glass when the headlight is on and off. This uneven heating expansion and cooling contraction will increase the likelyhood of the bulb glass being cracked or shattered. The result is the filament burning up. Which filament depends whether you are using the low or high beam at the time of failure.

^^^ I guess both of you can now have 1 of each amber light.

EX4Dr, your next. thanks a lot for all your help. i'll try both solutions and ship out the ambers by the end of the week.

I am 100% sure that it is the bulbs. Trust me on this. When I did my 04 lights swap, I accidentily touched one of the bulbs because I almost dropped it. Guess what, the light works only when I was br aking. This is the same problem your having. Either the bulbs or your headlights are busted, but I highly doubt they are busted unless you dropped it....

the problem isnt the headlights, not at all, if they come on at all (whether hi or low beam ) then it's not your lights. Its the dimmer switch. I know EP civics like mine have a problem with this, you might wanna get a new switch...$35 dollars at a local auto zone or advanced auto
