Speaker/3rd brake light rattles

Hi! i own a 2001 civic coupe LX, i m a new member, and was wondering if anybody knows how i can fix my problem. Whenever i drive on a bumpy road, the speakers or brake light, or both rattles like crazy. Its begining to get really annoying. I ve been searching around in the forums and i did not find anything that would help my situation. Any help would be much appriecieted.

It's a civic not an LS430, it's not going to be silent. What you may want to try is to look around home depot or something to find some thin rubber weather stripping. Take off your back panel and cut a thin layer of the rubber to fit on the edges of the panel. That should deaden some of the rattle.

I had the same issue. i got some little foam pads with adhesive on them from the dealership. They are kinda like spacers and thats all the dealership will use to fix the problem.

hmm... sounds familiar... the clips which attaches the rear shelf to the car usually pops out with age. what i did is to hit the shelf hard to push the clips back down. the rratling noise is caised by the 3rd brake light housing hitting the back windshield. you would notice quite an improvement after doing this but you have to do it sometime again later.
