Strange noise, I've never heard on a car!!!

When accelerating from a stop in the 1K-2.5K rpm range I hear this water noise, like water gurgling or bubbling. It goes away after the engine is completely warmed, or I get over 3K. I'm dumbfounded.

Well, a 7th gen. My 03 EX. It only does it when its cold outside. It's quiet at around 1.5K rpm then once you get above 2K rpm its louder. It does it in neutral, in gear just in the cold. I was thinking something to do with the radiator/cooling system.

Sounds like air trapped in the cooling/heater system. Not a big problem, usually means you have to add coolant to get the air out.

That happens on my 2002 Si Coupe, You will probably notice the car wont do it when the blower temperature dial is set to cold. It only does it when you turn up the heat.

^^^ I agree. When I drained my coolant, I heard water gurgling or bubbling. So make sure you do this when the car is cold. Best in the morning when the car has been turned off over night. Open the radiator cap and add coolant to the filler neck. Add coolant to the reserve tank. Run the car at 3000 RPM for a 5mins to get the air out.

It is a simple prob/solution, but what you can do is take it to your dealer, and have them flush your coolant system for free for you. On the 03/04 civs there was a technical service bulletin about air in the coolant lines, and dealers will flush it for free. They have done mine for free twice.

I have your answer right here. My noise is gone after my trip to the dealer.

See post#30. The sound is gone for now. But it may or may not come back in winters.
