Got a new transmission!

yeah so finally a week ago i took my car in czu the transmission slipped. they said it was internal and the transmisison needed replaced. i took it in on tuesday and got it back today. feels like new, but it feels SLOWER then when i had the crappy transmission. please tell me its just in my imagination. it just doesnt seem like it wants to accelerate like before. o well.

Slower? I hope you didnt pick the Civic up to be fast...... that car is slow, it cant feel any slower because then you would be in Park.

Like STL01civic said, it feels slow cause the tranny hasnt broken in yet. And please let it break in before you start to drive normal.

yea thats what i was thinking..since i have extended warranty and if my tranny breaks..i wonder if i could ask for a manual tranny.. wouldnt it be cheaper for them.

yes and no..
i think that they wouldnt do that because you would have to change a number of things..

ecu, wiring harness, shift linkages, install a clutch pedal, flywheel, clutch

new axels, motor mount hydraulic lines
clutch safety switch

Tranny needs time to break in. Also I would suggest changing the fluid after 2k miles once everything gets going to get all the metal and crap out of it.

a dealer wont do that. Even if it cost cheaper for the tranny, the warranty company wouldnt allow it. Besides, honda wouldnt install it anyway. They probably wouldnt know how.

i did ask them about a manual, they said the warranty only replaces wut i got. no i didnt drive my auto like a 'manual'. sure i drove my car hard but not THAT hard.
