Knocking Sound when shifting

I'm getting a weird knocking noise. Sounds like the motor mounts or something, like the engine is knocking against something. Mostly notice it when i'm shifting 1st to 2nd then let the clutch out, or even going into 3rd when the RPMS are high enough. I've got an 03 Si (Canada) with 49Ks on it. Its already been in for the rocking seat but they had to order parts for it, so i'm going back next week. I guess i'll get the knockin sounds checked out too. Anyone else had this problem?

Hey whats up My Civic has it too really annoying, I changed the springs and strut bearings and it has seemed to take care of it...I used to work at a Auto Shop and it was on the tech sheet for common Gen 7 problems...Not really sure if its your problem but its worth a shot, also check your sway bar and bushings...o and I did have a front motor mount go out on me around 32,000

Hey just got my car back from Honda. They replaced both front struts, lubed stabilizer bushings and checked lower control arms, then did a 4 wheel alignment.. They say this should fix the problem, but come back if it doesn't. Well guess what? It still makes that noise when shifting, but not while going over bumps anymore. I guess i'm going back there next week. The advisor said the struts were leaking so i guess they needed replacing anyways..

I don't know why you got the struts replaced, because that can't be the problem.

who cares... it was probably done under warranty. I would love new struts again for free after 49k. I know the stock struts suck, but kids, the important word here is FREE.....

I love FREE.

ps. I hope you had it done under warranty. If it was not done under warranty, you got taken to the cleaners.

hehe. Yes it was done under warranty. I guess they saw them leaking so they just went and replaced them under warranty. its kinda nice cause it feels really smooth and tight in the front end. But they still haven't fixed my problem. But like Phuviano said you complain when you get brand new struts for free Hmmmm i wonder what else i can get for free before the warranty expires?

Ok i was back at Honda again yesterday complaining of the same knocking sound, its getting super loud. They said my front motor mount was cracked. (he's never heard of one going before on a civic this new) (03 Ex coupe) So they replaced it and i got it back yesterday. But the noise is still there, not as bad, but still there. Did the Tech not drive the car after he replaced it??? WTF So i phoned them back and i'm going back on monday, this time he said go with the technician for a drive. Now i'm thinking maybe all the mounts were busted. How does that happen? I dont beat the sh-it out of it. Its my baby

Ok back to Honda again. NOw they have ordered me all engine and tranny mounts (total of 4). The advisor phoned me at work and says the noise is still there after replacing the mounts. They have a call into honda tech line because there not sure of the problem. He is now telling me they might replace the clutch or tranny but is waiting for a call back from Honda Canada to make that final decision. I should know in a few days. I'll keep you guys posted.
