Hi, my name is Samcanadian.

You may remember me from such threads as "The Mean Game" and "Anything in ****ing off-topic"

I recently bought a new deck after my second one was stolen...

This one can play MP3's and WMA format discs, so I'm wondering how I can get them to show Text when I'm playing them.

Do I need a special program to input that on the song, or can I just do it with Windows Media Player or something?

Just use the Advanced Tag Editor in Windows Media Player (right-click on the track in the playlist then enter all relevant info). Winamp has a similar feature.

In looking through the tag editor thing, it shows that there's a Band Name but when I play it, it only shows "Various". It plays the track NAME...but that's it.

Make sure you go through all the tabs and info fields. I bet you the second tab (Artist) is still labeled VARIOUS.

your deck shoudl auto read your mp3 tags, or atelast there file name

IBTM... Anyway, I use Nero when I burn and all I have to do is make sure the artist and song are correctly input into my files before burning. It auto burns the information onto the disc so that I have the ability to display it should I choose (Pioneer deck?)

there are id3v1 and id3v2 tags.. winamp shows them pretty easy, some songs have only one with stuff in it.. try filling out both fields..
