stupid noise around 2500 rpm

there is a noise coming from the engine bay when i shift at 3000 and it revs fall to about 2.5 it makes a slight vibrating noise , its small but it gets to you, im a perfectionist so evrytime i hear it i want ti punch the dash. I brought it to honda , they donno their *** from their face , hes like I hear no noise, my freind who knows nothing about cars comes in and goes whats that noise. Then they say they won't touch it because of the intake , the guy was so arrogent i was about to jump the counter and give him a beating. Does anybody know what the noise is , i think the steering column is hitting something.

Mine makes a noise around that range, it sounds like a heat shield or some other piece of metal vibrating against the exhaust system. I've yet to find the cause - if you come up with anything, let us know!

do you have a strut bar? i had the same problem and when i reved around 2.5k, there would be a buzzing/rattling sound. it turned out to be the A/C line hitting the strut bar i had. i just moved the A/C line around and the sound went away.

Actually, it was my strut bar a long time ago - then I moved the offending line and took care of it. This is a different sound - more metal-on-metal sounding.

Well take it somewhere else then if honda is giving you a hard time. Take it to another honda, or take it to a independent shop.

Yup both the strut bar and heat shield from an intake would rattle. Look at those first.

yup that sounds about right , i think it might be the power steering belt , i had a strut bar for all of 15 mins then took it off. actually though after i had the ac installed is when it started to make that noise.
