I got my 02ex with 26k last month, and it has always had this strange single-pop noise when I back out of parking spots. I turn the wheel all the way one way while backing up, and then shift to 1st and turn the wheel all the way the other direction, I get a thick POP with the thud translated through the pedals. It usually happens when not moving, so it's not the brakes.
I took it to the dealership (still under warranty) but I couldn’t replicate the problem, so they replaced the left-front strut assembly (they were guessing) (it did nothing). Also, the power steering pump was replaced two weeks ago. No change.
Anyone have any idea what this could be?
Thanks in advance. I love this board. I wish I had more to contribute.
Other (less important questions):
What should we use to clean/lubricate the window track?
Anyway to buff out/fix deep scratches in the vinyl dashboard around the glove box and stereo? (I think the car suffered a break-in in its life)
There is a 3/16” gap between the doors and the car-will putting door guards on the doors to reduce this gap reduce wind noise?

damn you replaced a crap load of parts for nothing. That was stupid. No offense.
As I look at it, too many people are worrying about little noises. I have popping noises that my car makes also only when turning. But everything is fine. I have several wind noises at high speeds, but I just turn up the radio.
Unless you can find the exact cause of the problem, dont replace anything. Apparently that is what honda did. They decided to just start replacing stuff which didnt work. That is what you call a shitty mechanic. A good technician can diagnose any problem or a majority of problems.

And it's gotten worse over the past couple of weeks. I'm calling a different Honda dealer tomorrow to get an appointment.
