can't stand no vtec
dealership didn't fix my car cause they said somebody put something wrong which in this case they said the head gasket was on backwards not getting oil to the vtec seloniod to engage. i dont know why cause one time raced the del sol i was talking about in the forums and i had beat him cause my vtec was working thats why i don't think thats the problem. the dealership said they replaced and check the electrical and said that was not the problem they didn't know what else it could be so they called the honda and they told them it could be head gasket on backwards, the oil jernal clogged or some thing they said vtec block dont know exactly what the last problem was but something like that they said that warranty wasn't going to cover it and i was looking at $800-$1000 to fix it so i want to do it myself cause i had put the head back on when they took it part when i had bent 13 valves.
Wha do yall guys think should i try to fix it or go and try to get an acura rsx-s? anybodys opinions woul be appretiated

Screw that. They need to fix it. What does the gasket have anything to do with vtec? If there was a seal problem, the engine wouldn't hold compression and cel would have come on. If they say vtec is clogged or whatever, get a new solenoid and install it. Go find a different dealer.
The headgasket has holes for the oil passages from the block to the head, theoretically if in backwards it could block this flow and your solenoid or vtec oil pressure sending unit could not see/use the oil pressure. IF your headgasket was incorrectly installed, it IS a problem, but may or may not have been the cause of your problem.
$800-$1000 for basic headgasket job + some other work and parts is about normal from a dealership. Consider that it can flag for probably 4-6 hours depending on the amount of ancilliary work so $90 or so an hour for labor.... then you add in parts, and the cost of sending the head to a machine shop to be planed for reinstallation. $800 is very easy to spend at a dealer for that work.
I'm not saying that the dealership may not be screwing around, but the pricing offerd is completely inbounds.

well they changed my solenid and some spool valve they called it and the warrantty covred it but they said they went threw all the electrical and mechanical and hey found nothing o they called the honda dist. and they told them it could be three things that i listed up there he said that it had the righ pressure bot not enough volume going the solenoid. i could replace thegasket myself cause im the ne that put he head back mybe i did put it on backwards i also didnt adjust my valves when a performence shop told if i did that i hope yall guys can help me cause i really want to buy my rims instead of wasting it all on my car
^^^i don't understand much of that post buttt... if you replaced the gasket and the head, and now all of the sudden the gasket is on backwards, and no one knows why..... chances are you should take a shot at doing it again. just curious however... how'd you bend 13 valves?
i was racing some dumb a$% that i already had beat bad and i guess he did something to his car and said he wanted a rematch so we did and i took him the first time and he wanted to race again so we did, i beat him off the line and when i hit third gear i was like 4 car lengths ahead of him and i was going to shift to 4rth and i put it in 2nd gear and redlined ugly and turned the car off i couldn't turn it on anymore
my vtec did work when it wanted to before, now it don't at all. the dealersip said it could be the gasket, or its clogged some where thats not my idea maybe being clogged but i don't think it could be the gasket i think dealership wants to make some mone off of me

LOL! Yep, I was gonna say something. You don't win races because your VTEC works. I can't stand it when people think VTEC is like a burst of power like nitrous or a spooled up turbo.
i was trying to say that the vtec was working.
but it don't matter i'm ging to trade it i for a type-s instead it will be better to boost and fix up any body have a good acura dealership around in tx panhandle or dallas ft worth area
