I agree with the battery comments - In my previous cars I've had batteries that have plenty of juice to run all the accessories but not turn the engine over, and it sounds very similiar to what we're hearing here. When I mentioned replacing the starter on the Toyota, the solenoid WAS the faulty part, and I suspect that's what's going on here. The jumpstart would pretty much eliminate the theory that the battery doesn't have enough juice to turn the car over. I suppose you could try borrowing your buddy's battery and giving that a shot, but that's a lot of effort - let Acura take care of you, and be sure to report back
Wow, thanks for all of the replies guys
Yeah I'll be sure to reply back tomorrow and see what Acura does.
Just a question, since the car is so new, and need the car to get to and from work/school, do you think they will supply a loaner?

I doubt Honda would... but since Acura is the luxury brand, you've got a better chance anyway. I'm sure if you raised a little fuss you could get them to give you a car.
It's at the Acura dealer right now, got it towed there this morning. They can't look at it today because they're "too busy" but they did provided a loaner, another EL, so at least there's a car to use again.

But he tried to jump start it.. so it shouldnt be a low battery condition unless they didnt let it charge up enough. Might be cheaper to just buy a better battery then pay tow charges to the dealer.

Anyways, got a call from the dealer, I guess they had time to look at the car afterall. Turns out it was infact a dead battery, they put a new one in and it started right up. I just can't figure out why a not-even-year-old battery died like that, oh well.

honda has replaced my battery 3 times already....and my car is 1 yr old too. so yea i hope ur car doesn't go through the same thing.
it took honda a many tries to figure out it was a dead alternator
Damn, I hope not either. They said it could be because of having too many accessories on while the car is running. I think that this is probably the case, since it's been getting colder, I've been having the heated seats on, the side mirror defrosters on, the heat on full (not sure if that counts). I'm certainly not a car expert, but I didn't think having those things on while the car is running, while driving, would drain the battery that much, but I'll remember this for the future.
The guy at Acura said there was only 2 volts left in the battery, so it was too far gone to get a charge or something, which is why when my friend tried to boost the car, it had no effect, I guess
