i believe the connection is behind the A pillar of the rear windows (dont know what its really called). i'm pretty sure i saw it there when i was doing audio stuff. you basically have to take off the plastic panel on the upper sides of the rear window.

if the shop scratched one of the deffroster "lines" on the window it will not work and the only way to fix it is to replace the back glass! (ouch $$$) i would take it back to them and tell them that the deffroster is not working and you want them to fix it. the fedral law states that when a vehical is in an accident it must be returned to pre-accident condition. remember man, the squeaky wheel gets oiled.

actually, if the lines were scratced, you could just repair the individual lines of the defroster. you have to but this special "paint" from a autoparts store. it looks like clear nail polish with very fine metal flakes in the paint. you brush it on the part that was scratched. basically the metal flakes help carry the current that runs on the defroster lines and problem solved.
