Angry E-Brake

So here's what happened:
I was driving along with about 4 of my friends in the car. We were all in my brand new Honda Civic LX which only has about 8000 miles on it. One of my friends all of a sudden says, "hey you should pull your e-brake, it'd be awesome." And of course, I don't really want to put unecessary wear on my tires, pluss I have other people in the car so I don't want to endanger them. Before I know it, I feel someone's hand reach up front and pull the brake.
We did a complete 360 at about 75 mph. I was in 4th gear, I believe.

Afterward, my car was lerching around. The engine light came on, and it didn't want to go faster than like 45 mph. When we pulled over I opened the hood and noticed that the header was ****ing red hot. What I'm guessing happened is that I just popped a sensor and that's what caused everything to happen to my car. However, is there anything else I should be conserned about? I'm taking it to the dealer to get it checked out, but my friend says the engine light just came on cause I popped a sensor. I'm a little pissed about the whole situation.

Your friend is a total idiot...and if the dealer cause u to cough up money to do tha repairs...I suggest that it should come out of tha pocket of tha idiot who pull tha ebrake! I guess its normal for tha headers to be red though....

I should mention that the car turned over no problem once everything cooled down. It ran fine all the way home. I did notice slight vibrations however when I went over about 55.

Um, I think the engine just stalled. If you pull the ebrake, that just stops the tires--which makes the engine stall. Same thing happens if your tires lock up with the regular brakes when driving on snow. There shouldn't be anything wrong with the engine, just the brakes, I think.

I could be wrong, though.

pulling the e-brake doesnt stall your engine, it just locks up your rear wheels. your car should be fine and the vibrations you're feeling are probably just in your head. but none the less, take your "friend" who pulled the e-brake and give him a curbie.

Actually I'm sure the vibrations are there. I have people telling me it's because my tires were balded in certain spots, making an uneven surface on the tires. I'm taking my car in tomarrow, so hopefully they can tell me what exactly is wrong. Hopefully it is just the tires, and not my flipping transmission.

Well whatever the problem is, make your stupid *** friend pay the bill when you go to the dealer, otherwise sue his ***. If your car was running fine before he pulled the ebrake, then messed up afterwards, then he fuked something up. I would have kicked his *** if I were you.

your tranny shouldn't have problem if you are in a high gear and didn't shift down...
however normal tires shouldn't be balded just after one 360... but then again our stock tires are kinda crappy.
you also check to see if any your joints / endlinks are messed up... 'cause our stock endlinks are kinda weak too.

The E-brake won't, but the spin will kill the engine. Its a failsafe because the the spin will swirl oil off the pickup, when the pickup gets air, it kills it. Its happened to a couple RSXs and EP3s talking about on-track spins. If you spin, the car can sense it and it shuts down.
BTW, beat your friend with the tire iron... Save him someone's family trouble of him killing someone else the next time he does something idiotic.

I'm not worried about anything in my car anymore. It runs fine, and the only thing I'm in need of are new tires.... And a few mods which I've been itching to do.

He mostlikely Flat spotted the tires.... it happens when you lock up the tires. Drive on them for a while and it should eventually go away, other wise buy new tires.

A very good friend of mine was in a car when someone did that. The car flipped over and now he lives in a private home and can't even wipe his own ***. He has no clue who I am or anyone else, not to mention the medical bills. Your friend is a fuking moron, so stay away from them, they could end up killing you or someone else with their stupid ways.

For real, stay away from them. Nobody should ever touch anything that has to do with your driving while you are driving. I would have made them get out, even if on the freeway, and walk home. If we were a thousand miles away, they would have one fun time finding a way home. I would beat the living crap out of them. Did they pay for it, or are they. You NEED to make them do it. Let your parents know what they did, and if they dont pay, take them to court. They should get community service + bills at the least. I would throw their a** in jail for doing that. Sucks there were no cops around.

Point well taken, although i came to that conclusion on my own. If i could get a restraining order for my car, I'd do it, trust me. Or maybe I should just get one for me.
