Question 04CivicEXSedan AT Down Shifts Too Early??

ALL, while driving I noticed that as I deaccelerate (approx. between 35-25mph) the car will jerk like someone quickly presses the brake too hard or the car down-shifts too early. It's not really consistent since it doesn't happen all the time..just every now and then. Though, usually it occurs when I'm deaccelerating at low speeds (<45mph) or I had just started accelerating to ~30mph and had to deaccelerate again (when I say deaccelerate, I mean by slowly depressing the brake). I really think the car is down-shifting too early. There's no obvious "clanking" noise like the gear-box is having trouble...the car just jerks slightly.

Has anyone experienced this or heard this before? I would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

its like that for all auto civics. ppl feel like their car is surging forward. but i dont think its a problem. the downshifting probably helps out braking.

That's the stupid new grade logic control. When the car senses that you're on an incline downhill and pressing the brake, it will downshift two gears to help engine brake. I hate it.

I have the same issue with my 04 Auto! Drives me insane. It does it everytime right around 30 MPH when Im deccelerating. Like you said, it feels like the tranny jerks. No noise or anything just the jerk. Ive been worried somethings wrong with the tranny. Hopefully it is some built in feature and not a problem. If it is built in its really stupid

I'm also experiencing that with my 2002 EX. I believe all the auto tranny from 2001 till now are all like that.
