Bye Bye Tranny

Driving home from work yesterday and my 04 Civic Sedan Auto would'nt go past 40mph. Called Honda Care and had it towed to the dealership, they call me a few hours later and tell me my tranny is faulty and they are going to replace it with a brand new one.

Since my car only has 5,000 miles and is 3 months old, do you think I should try and get a new car or go ahead and let them replace the tranny? Anyone else who has had a new tranny put in a newer car with so little miles?

Thanks

Eh.... happened on my neighbors camry too. At 3000 miles. Dealer fixed it, and it's been fine for years. Bad parts happen.

no lemon law here but if your tranny goes out a couple more times then its a lemon. so if you want to get rid of your car hope that your tranny goes out a couple more times and you can use the lemon law to your advantage

A few years ago, a friend of mine bought a brand new Maxima, fully decked-out, and his auto tranny failed on the way home from the dealer! They sent a tow truck, along with another new Maxima. The dealer said that they weren't even going to see what the problem was - the car was going back to the factory.

Too bad that kind of customer service isn't more common...
