Car Issues & The Dealer

alright well recently my car had been acting funny and in a few instances went into a fail safe mode (02 lx auto..mods presently on the car magnaflow cat-back only) but it stopped doing the fail safe stuff but would do it again while going slow or slowing down but now it doesn't do it at all, but it still acted funny i.e. cuts on and off during idle, sometimes during slow driving (0-30 mph), and in one instance it would not shift out of first and reved real high so i stopped the car, turned it back on and it was normal again. i took it in and they claimed my problem could be caused by my aftermarket alarm which was installed after the problem started and they said they would not touch it . so i had it removed and the problem still occured and even started to get worse so i took it in again but now they say they couldn't find any problems registered on the computer and will charge 75/ hour changing parts untill the problem is installed and that the warranty may be voided because of the alarm since it was wired into the cars wiring..more alright i'm not to sure if the sema law stuff will help but i guess it's worth the try. also has anyone experienced this kind of problem with their car? oh and to make it be known i don't not drive it hard nor do i neutral drop or anything stupid in that nature.

Wow that really sucks man. First off you should find another Honda dealer to go to.

It seems your car might have been affected by the car alarm. My dad has been an auto mechanic for 20 years now, and has seen far too many electrical problems associated with bad electrical work (IE: cutting of OEM wires to splice and solder). If the car did go into limp mode then you wouldn't be able to go ver like 15mph (has this happened to you or was it just the car acting funny).

AGAIN take it to another Honda dealer and try your luck there.

ok good, you live in h-town, well close to it, exactly where. Ok and what dealer are you going too?

Since you already took off your aftermarket alarm, take it to another dealership where they dont know that you had a aftermarket alarm. Then tell them you have no idea what the hell is going on.

Usually dealers say the warranty is still good as long as the alarm is professionally installed. I doubt it's causing your problem, unless there are loose wires shorting out all over.

yea thats exactly where I bought my car, and I refuse to take it there for service. Take it to the Gillman honda at 59 and the beltway, they are alot better there. They sell aftermarket ****, so should give **** about aftermarket **** installed. Gillman in fort bend is only good for getting parts cheap.

that dealer is bullshit because they dont get alot of business like the other hondas and the service dept. there has really ******* people. They just want your money. And also they dont have alot of really experienced techs. Thats why they dont ever mess around with really hard work.
