Howdy folks!
Just wondering if anyone out there has ever changed the wheel bearings on their 2001 Civic EX Coupe. About 10K miles ago, I started hearing this funny sound from the front driver side. I was sure it was due to bad tires, so I drove it until I needed to change the tires. Well, 10K later...I changed the tires and the darn noise is still present.
I brought it into the shop and the tech told me it was a bad wheel bearing on the driver side, front wheel.
The lowdown: $68 for parts, $130 for labor.
Is this a do-it-youself, or shall I let the shop take care of it?
Any info would be wonderful....THANKS!

i had to get mine done....its due to hitting like a curb or something most likely....and that price seems about right for the part... but the labour seems kinda bit much....yah it aint cheap but its better than risking your wheel flying off while driving hahaha
i didnt bring it to honda...i brought mine to a shock and strut specialist and they did it in 1hr easy....none of that dealer mark up....call around you'll find cheaper and i wouldnt recommend doing it yourself cuz you gotta take out the springs and stuff unless you have the tools and know what your doing.
yeah you cant do that what you can do if you have an extra vehicle is to take the wheel assembly off and then take it somewhere to having the bearing pressed off and on. That should save you some labor charge
