01-up civic headlight switch
Has anyone had problems with low beam headlights going out?
I have had my headlight switch replaced 3 times already in my
2001 Civic EX coupe. The first time the dealership told me that
it was the bulbs that I was running 100/90 watt were too high
wattage. So I replaced them with the Eurolite standard wattage
hyperwhite bulbs (60/55w). Now it went out again (this is the
third time) and they replaced the harness that plugs into the
switch because the wire for the low beam lights had gotten hot
and melted the plug a little where the pin goes into it at. I am
going to put factory bulbs back in for now. If anyone knows
anything about this issue I would like to know what's up.

you were using 100/90 watt bulbs in your car..? just curious...
i've been running cheap-o target eurolite 60/55w hyper white bulbs for a long *** time with no problems... hmm..

This may be a shock to you, but the Eurolites and non-standard wattage bulbs are not as high quality as Sylvania or GE. Now the melted wire is from you putting the high wattage bulbs in. They are drawing too much current for the wiring. You should be running a relay and upgraded wiring direct from the battery if you are crazy enough to run the high wattage bulbs.

Master, if you read his post, he already HAD the switch replaced 3 times.
I agree that a relay kit is the only safe way to run brighter bulbs. The wiring was not designed for more current than stock.
