power locks and passenger side window not working at all!
i just installed new front component speakers with 1" tweeters and when we were screwing the driver side door speaker in the driver side lock started to go hay wire(locking and unlocking and the thing wasnt even connected in too!) and then when we tested the speakers, for some reason the passenger side window doesnt work at all(and yes we checked all connections and they are fine!) and then the power locks dont work anymore. we checked everything and nothing. we also disconnected the batt from it and still nothing, oh and btw whosyourdaddy and me were the ones installing these speakers. so he knew what he was doing. and also no wires were cut or anything. the speakers that i just put in were crystal audio. we also tried the switch from his car on my passenger side wiring and still nothing.

well i just checked the fuses and the yellow fuse(20) for the power locks is gone. and i check the green fuse(40) for the power windows and i cant really tell cuz its like a long green block and the only way to see it is through the top and i cant really tell from the other 40A fuses. also i was wondering if i could get another yellow(20) fuse from another part from the fuse box and place it in the power locks slot? and then would it work again?

hey finally found the prob, i have blown 3 fuses within 5 minutes(from my passenger side window) and the power lock fuse is blown as well, so i need to bring this in a shop to get my electrical system diagnoses, or either i think its the new speakers. cuz this started after me and whosyourdaddy finally finished the install on the new front speakers. you think?
I'd say it would cost you a couple of bucks to buy some new fuses and put them in. If they blow right away again then I would say that you may have screwed into the harness that goes into the door. Probably down along the bottom of the door close to where the speaker mounts.
Try the fuses first since it won't cost too much and make sure you replace them with the same rating or you'll be running for a fiire extinguisher.

yea i keep replacing them and the fuse for the passenger side window keeps blowing out everytime i turn the key to 2. so i dunno maybe we did tape into the wiring but is there wiring behind and under the speakers? cuz we double and triple checked it and nothing. it was all good. we checked the wiring first right behind the speakers and nothing! it was all good back there. well anyways imma just gonna bring it to a local small mechanic shop near my school and see what they can do about it. first im just gonna ask them if they could just put the window up(man it was frezzing in my car while driving to school!) so yea then once that is done then well see what they can do.
another question, is there any other way to pull the window up other than the switch? can i do it manuelly? cuz i just wanna put that passenger side window up so that when im driving its not so cold in my car. and so that there is no road noise coming into the car.

You MUST have either pinched a wire to the chassis (ground) or screwed into it. No other way. Look again, very carefully. Use a good strong light. You can put 12 volts right to the window motor directly to move it up and down, but unplug it from the harness first. You'll need to find a way to get 12 volts there, though.
Again, look very closely at all the wires. Something is shorting to the body of the car.

if you hear the actuator moving, it is good. IF you dont hear it moving, it is either:
1. THe actuator is dead
2. The fuse are just blown
3. the plug to the actuator is unclipped
IF you do hear it moving and the lock isnt working, there could only be 1 problem:
1. The cable has come loose. take apart the door and the lock assembly, and see if the clip that holds the cable to the actuator is holding the cable correctly.

how much is it for a new acutator? cause my window is stuck in the up position after i tried opening it when it was about -30 out side last jan. I doubt its the fuse, i just assume because it was so cold it messed the motor up.

the whole thing is about 50 bucks from www.hondaautomotiveparts.com the install is a simple bolt on. if you are able to take the stock door lock assembly off, you will be able to put the new one on.
*once u get it, make sure you securely and correctly place the lock cable into the new actuator arm thingy. it must go in a certain way and be held by the clip. i did this wrong and it came loose after about 3 ups and downs. i had to redo the entire installation!!!

sorry to bring this back from the dead but which part is the actuator on that website? I went to the front door windows for my 2001 4dr LX AT and there are a bunch of parts, do i need the R Regulator/ the $50 or $150 one? is that the only part Ill need? My window wont go up and down and im pretty sure that the motor is blown out because i tried opening it when it was like -30 out.
